Foods in your fridge are more powerful at clearing acne than jars in your bathroom vanity.
I outline 6 different causes for acne in my Clear Skin Program – but ultimately there is one common denominator: inflammation.
What we eat either fans the fires of inflammation or extinguishes it.
The 6 foods listed here all help reduce inflammation and provide you with a variety of nutrients critical for clear skin:

2. Turmeric + Black Pepper
When combined, turmeric and black pepper deliver powerful anti-inflammatory benefits.
3. Hemp Seeds
Contain anti-inflammatory omega-3s and easy to digest plant protein.
Carrots and other orange foods are high in Vitamin A, a nutrient critical for clear skin. A Vitamin A deficiency is a known cause of acne.
5. Dark Leafy Greens
Rich in fiber, vitamins, and phytochemicals to aid in elimination and keep your skin clear. Kale, collards, chard, arugula, rocket – there are many options to choose from. Eat greens every day.
6. Wild Salmon
A great source of omega-3, an essential nutrient for clear skin. Avoid farmed salmon, which tends to be higher in pro-inflammatory omega-6.
I struggled with acne for years and tried just about every over the counter remedy, and was prescribed birth control and eventually Accutane.
But, the only thing that worked was upgrading my diet to address my nutrition deficiencies, inflammation, digestive issues/constipation, and hormonal imbalances. (It was so effective, I changed career paths to study holistic nutrition and cooking!)
