April 21, 2015 by Where to eat healthy, in every Manhattan neighborhood. In NYC, it is now hip to be healthy (thank goodness!) You can find a kale salad at practically every restaurant, and you’re just as likely to see brown rice as white rice at Asian restaurants. That being said, there are a number of restaurants that go the extra mile, providing outstanding healthy, organic, and even local fare. I compiled the map of restaurants below, to help you find the best options for any meal and any occasion. Whether you’re stuck late at the office and need to order takeout, or have to impress clients at a fancy dinner, I have the best dining options for you, from quick and casual to fancy and upscale. Click the list icon in the top right corner of the map to filter the restaurants by type: Quick, Casual Lunch Options Juice Bars (which also have quick grab and go lunch options) Whole Foods and Health Food Stores Casual Healthy Restaurants Upscale Healthy Restaurants Desserts / Bakeries (vegan and/or gluten free) Pizza (Gluten-free and Dairy Free) Ethnic: Indian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Ethiopian (which all have a lot of plant-based options) And the best part? I give you my picks for what to order! Simply click on each pin to learn a little more about each restaurant and some of the best options off the menu. If you have a favorite healthy restaurant the I missed, which is either organic or plant-based options, or has a variety of gluten free and dairy free options, please let me know by leaving a comment below, and I will add it to the map! I will also be expanding the map to include Upper Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, so again, please send your suggestions my way via the comment box, below! UPDATE! You can now get this list right to your phone via CityMaps! You can access it online or download the app in the App store, and follow “Healthy Restaurants NYC by Maria Marlowe” It’s much easier than google map… I also have one for Los Angeles.
