December 18, 2017 by One of the most common questions I get is about my skincare routine, so I’m sharing some of my faves and the best natural skin care products here today. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I got into nutrition in the first place because I had terrible acne. I tried all the conventional routes – over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid cleansers and treatments, Proactiv, multiple dermatologists, and prescription medications…but nothing worked until I changed my diet. I am so happy and relieved my skin is finally clear, and rarely breaks out (the only time I ever get a pimple anymore, is if I eat something I know I shouldn’t!) While I do consider my diet to be the most important aspect of my skincare routine, I use exclusively natural and non-toxic products, as well, and my skin has NEVER looked or felt better. Remember skin has two sides – inside and outside – and we need to nourish them both. Best Natural Skincare Products Best Natural Makeup Remover Jojoba Oil In my opinion, there is no better makeup remover than pure jojoba oil. If you wear foundation, this is a necessary step before face wash, as face wash alone typically is unable to fully remove face makeup. So, step one at the end of the night for me is pouring jojoba oil on a few cotton rounds and removing any face and eye makeup. It is extremely gentle on the skin and does a good job of removing everything, without clogging pores. Way back, I used to use coconut oil but found it too heavy and greasy. In addition, it clogged my pores. Jojoba is much lighter and won’t clog pores (in fact it’s used in many moisturizers). Best Natural Face Wash Ogee Cream Cleanser I love this Ogee Silky Cream Cleanser – just two pumps massaged into the face for a minute, splash with water and your skin is clean and calm. Best Natural Sprays & Serums I am obsessed with this Fulvic Acid Spray. Introduced to me by a friend who also happens to be an incredible esthetician, I can not live without this. I spray it on morning and night for instant nourishment, hydration, and glow. Primally Pure Fancy Face Made from over a dozen potent natural and organic oils, Primally Pure Fancy Face Serum is an effective and gentle way to improve your skin’s appearance. Whether you’re looking for something anti-aging, or want something to deal with skin imperfections, such as acne, this oil can help. It can reduce scarring, reduce lines and wrinkles, and brighten the complexion. The oils it contains have both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it great for acne-prone skin, too. I always pair this with their Beauty Cream, below. This is much more affordable than Hourglass. Best Natural Moisturizer Night Light This is another product, introduced to me by a different but equally incredible esthetician friend. I can’t live without Night Light Moisturizer. My skin drinks it in and feels so nourished and hydrated. I use it at night and wake up glowing. It is expertly formulated with a variety of botanicals and actives which help to reduce hyperpigmentation while deeply hydrating, without clogging pores. . Best Spot Treatment Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil is a medicine cabinet staple, and I use it for seemingly a million uses. One of which, is on breakouts, especially if I picked at it. It has antimicrobial properties, so it will keep any opened wounds -including a popped pimple – clean. It also helps it disappear a lot faster. Just a drop will do the job – it’s highly concentrated.
